Sea and Beach Lifestyle
Seven days ahead, 7am to 7pm. Each spot is read with the model and the reading rule that matched its own wind station best over five years of measurements — and each one shows how often that call has been right lately.
Days out of the next 7 we expect to be sailable: at least 3 hours of usable wind in a direction that works for that beach.
Numbers are the raw forecast for that spot's model. What matters is the verdict on the right. Where we have enough measured history, that verdict comes from a local model fitted to that beach — yesterday's forecast of wind, temperature, cloud, humidity, pressure and sea temperature, scored against what the station actually measured, with the chance shown underneath. Elsewhere it is the spot's own trigger number. Hours in an offshore or unusable direction are dimmed.
Every day this page stores what it predicted, and the next day it checks that against what the station actually measured. This is that score — ours, measured on this coast, not a claim from a model provider.
| Spot | Model used | Trigger | Right, last 30 days | Confidence |

The trigger number. A global model does not read the same at every beach. In Aseelah the GFS has to show 16 knots for 13 to be on the water; in Quriyat the ECMWF only needs to show 10. Those numbers come from a five-year study of forecast against measured wind, and they are what this page uses — the figures in the grid are the raw model, so you can check us.
Muscat spots are hard. Al Athaiba, Quriyat and Sur run on thermal wind that global models resolve poorly. We publish them because you still want to know — with the honest score beside them. For those, the live station reading above is worth more than any forecast.
Waves are model only. There is no wave buoy on this coast.
